I have used this recipe but without fragance. Now I want to add FO, but don't know how much. Here is the recipe: 16oz Coconut Oil, 4oz Olive Oil, 48oz Lard, 29oz Water, 9oz Lye. How do I determine the amount of FO like Gardenia?
Thanks
Mika

I would go with 2 ozs. of FO. Be ready for acceleration of trace as some florals do.

You could go a bit higher - i generally use .7 oz of FO per pound of oils - but in this case i'd go with soapbuddy's recommendation. Gardenia tends to be very strong, and can really speed up trace. A lighter hand with the fragance on heavy florals is usually both easier to soap with and more pleasant in the finished soap.
