Thank you everyone! I've taken a nicer picture and ... I must admit ... quite pleased with it!! It's one of the things about Melt & Pour I find, even the wrong outcome can be a satisfying one!!

They look gorgeous; really fresh and lemony. One thing I've learned about soaping, you need to have the temperament to "go with the flow". And the flow is often just as good as what we were aiming for.

I use pvc to make round soaps, i have only made CP soaps with these particular molds, but i suspect they would work for MP soaps as well. the site below sells liners for the pvc pipe molds. i love them and have not had a problem yet. they are reusable liners too.

I finally had another go - this time with a Pink Grapefruit FO. I cut the first tube a bit shorter, the cut the outer two tubes shorter again. Poured, set, in the freezer for 30 minutes, out of the freezer, run under a hot tap (being VERY careful not to get water into my soap, then pushed the first one out using my trusty bottle of Plum Sauce, then sliced, set into the second tube using a smidge of clear. Because the first tube was longer than the following ones i could actually TOUCH the first insert (which was a HUGE help!!) so was able to position them a bit better. Poured the white, etc, etc, then into the last tube, poured an orange/pink blend, set, pushed out and sliced. I am very happy!!!! I was determined I wasn't going to let it beat me!!!

I made the lemon slice soaps the other week with the PVC molds. They didn't turn out as great as I'd like since I had a hard time arranging the slices perfectly -- I think my mold was too long.

I left about 1-2 inches at the top of each PVC pipe mold and when I was ready to get the soap out I hit the pipe on the counter (open side down), which dislodged the soap. Then I flipped it to the other open end, hit it on the counter again and the soap popped right out!

I hope that made sense...???

I'm really going to have to learn patience if I'm going to make citrus and other fiddly soaps. It's not one of my assets, but I'm determined to get there. Yours look great, Purplemolly. How did you go with the weather last week? That was unbelievable. :o We've had drought conditions (no rain at all) for nearly 4 months. Very unusual for Perth. Ironic, given the weather on the east coast these past few months :?

Thanks for yourpositive words! The weather here has been ... unusual!!!! Luckily we are on the Mornington Peninsula and all of the really heavy rain, hail and flooding was in the city and north. Poor things really copped it hard - we were lucky! Fair bit of rain and water lying around in the back yard but none of the really bad damage others suffered. We are STILL in drought though!

Ha ha - I saw a tutorial somewhere too ... but then couldn't find it when I wanted to try!! AFTER struggling along and trying to remember how it all was done ... I searched again (and must have put in better "search terms" and found this http://soap-queen.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html ) I knew I'd seen it somewhere on Ann-Marie's blog!!
She shows the three different ways to make "citrus slices" - I used the last one - the tube mold way - and used one more tube then she did to give it a "citrus skin". Not sure if I will ever make it again - but wanted to know that I could!! Good luck!
