hi guys,

i have a question to run past you. i have seen PET plastic Bail Jars (the jars with the wire closure top) for $2.39 per piece on some websites. i've also seen glass candle jars with the same type of closure for $.98 cents per piece, both are 5oz size.

i want to keep costs down, but i also worry about glass getting to it's destination in 1 peice.

what are your thoughts, should i spend the extra money for the PET plastic jars to make sure nothing breaks, or would you go with the lower cost glass option?

Ouch, that's a tough one. Honestly I would go with the plastic for safety reasons, but it sucks they're so much more money. Then again I've made myself salts in glass jars and have never had an accident because I don't actively "use" salts when in the shower and soaking wet (does that make sense?). I just pour some into the tub and that's that.

Sorry I'm not much help. I'll leave this to the experts.

ETA: I'm sure you've seen this, but if you switch to regular screw off tops, they go down to like .60/ea. I know it's more of a pain but it might be a way to have your cake and eat it too. I looked on www.freundcontainer.com.

I only use plastic for my B&B stuff. I don't want to be responsible for someone picking up a glass jar with wet or oily fingers and having it break.

I think glass jars look more expensive and I know I always save jars from products to use in other ways when it's empty. But, I agree that I don't want to be responsible if anyone should slip and break them in the tub. I use a slippery warning on my labels, but I don't know legally if that is enough. I think I will ask my insurance co. what they think.

I use the zip lock stand up pouches...the front is clear and the salts look nice in them...

Thinking about trying the tubes....

I use the clear square tubes with the white caps, love them.
I also agree with the others about the glass.

after much thought, i'v decided to go with the zip lock stand up pouches. they're nice, neat, and are easy to keep lotz of stock if necessary.

I use the coffee type stand up bags with the window in it. Not sure exactly what they're called, but the look really cute.
