Teach Soap

I don't have a website either-I have a little store front on Ioffer, but that's it. After this craft fair, I realized that is going to be a number 1 priority, because most people, after giving them a business card, asked, do you have a website?

I will definitely be looking at this topic with a lot of interest.

I have also been chewing this over as you know for the past few weeks in my other posts and threads.. and I am along the lines of thinking I have to go on Etsy and open a store.. I can advertise this on my cards when I'm at framers market or craft fair , I'll also have some passing trade from folk that are looking for soap at the time on Etsy always a key point in selling if it's in there head that they wont it they will get it !!! It's not to hard to set up good photos can be used on a website of my own later on down the road when Iv sold some soap to pay for the website in the first place and the that brings me back to cost, selling and advertising is going to cost bucks what ever you do so you have to make the most of the low cost opportunity's when they come along.. point of sale when you have got a customer at your stall. Bag them net them and re-sell them in the most nicest possible way.. and make sure you throw a card in with your soap or flyer, Next Please....

But like the soap section in the supermarket it the place to look for handmade shop and a good place to start selling your soap I think..
eBay sucks and building and running a website with a cart if you haven't the skills to do it right yourself is going to cost you big time to set up and then hope someone is going to find your site without paying for that as well and then the trust issue with the cart this is where ebay and sites like etsy win the customer trusts them.. as they are a household name.. only my two cents worth .

Check out www.Homestead.com they have an easy "build-it-yourself" set up and it is only $5.00 a month for a 5 page "brochure." Then, if you want to add a PayPal shopping cart it is $20.00 a month. You can add different things or go as skinny as you need to to get started, but at least it's easy for someone without Webpage skills to maintain themselves.
With my past business, I had a cheaper webpage ($60.00 a year.) but I could not maintain it myself and so I had out of date info on there all the time and it drove me crazy! I am just starting to build one with Homestead and it seems really easy. You can get a free 30 day trial anyway.
