Teach Soap

i NOW know that users don't really like SLS in their natural soaps.

i also know that adding 1 tablespoon of oil per pound of MP soap is about all you can add before it falls apart.

that said, which oil, or other natural lathering agent can i add for users that like 'EXTRA' lather?

I can't think of anything natural; soapwort might not give you enough lather.

If you don't mind an unnatural route you could use:
PEG-150 Distearate
Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate
Coco-betaine
Plantapon
Bioterge
or SLSA (Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate)

Cocamidopropyl betaine is the most commonly used.

I've been doing a little tinkering with M&P (the Like CP M&P from BB) and discovered a super-bubbly, hard bar, with almost 3 Tbl. of oils per pound (1/2 tsp of Caster, & up to 2 T Coconut, the rest whatevers oils ). -> -> I add Cornstarch, it does something nice & magical (1 1/2 tsp. pp) creamed into a small amount of the oils first, making sure there are no lumps, then mixed w/the rest of the oils, and stir, stir, stir into the already melted M&P.

If adding Mango Butter, it def. needs to be melted separately & mixed into the cornstarch first, and well stirred into the M&P. I found out, pre-cornstarch, it separates & rises to the top while the soap cools.

Each little experiment is about 3 - 4 ounce in size, just right to test for a few days to see how I like it.

Oh, for measuring small dry amounts, the Pigment Scoops BrambleBerry sells just happen to be 1/32 tsp. Cornstarch for 3 oz M&P would be 9/32 tsp. (or 1/4 tsp + 1/32 tsp.)
