Ultramarine Blue will igve you a true blue.

Now...
I just used java bean to make a deep brown soap and it turned green

I'm using a FO with a smidge of vanilla in it though, do you think it will turn?

I'm glad someone brought up this issue. I've been trying to get a deep true blue also and still having trouble. I bought Ultramarine Blue powder from BB and I have trouble mixing it well in oil and I have to put a lot to get to medium blue. Is there an easier way to use Ultramarine Blue powder? Or my best bet is to buy Liquid Blue from BB?

I keep a bit of ultramarine blue mixed up in a squirt bottle with glycerine in it. I mix alot of my pigments and micas in the glycerine and usually don't have any problems that way. I say usually because the rainbow yellow mica didnt want to mix that way. I haven't had any trouble with the other rainbow micas, only the yellow. Sometimes it also help to mix up the powders in with your fo's and add them to your batch at the same time.

I have all my oxides and ultramarines mixed in glycerine in food bottles too.

I have a really nice blue from the ultramarine..

I mix my ultramarine powder with a little water and have no problems. A very little goes a long way! I use about 1/8 tsp for 44 ounces of oils.
