Teach Soap

hi everyone,

i took this picture from chagrin valley soaps. i love the way they package their soaps. does anyone have any idea how they did this to their paper? i've tried wetting the paper and gently pulling it apart, but it never came out like this.

any ideas / suggestions is appreciated

The only thing I can think of is that they put the handmade paper on the soap, then took a sponge (or something similar) and rubbed it wet, til they got that effect. Then let it dry.

I scrapbook and I know that special paper is made to do that, I've used it in a number of designs. With the special paper, you simply wet your fingertip, run it along the edge then pinch it off, when it dries it looks just like that picture.

If you have a local scrapbooking store, you might check with them to see what it is and maybe buy a sheet or two to play with, then if you like it, I bet you can find it in bulk online.

I'd love to see the finished product!

It is mulberry paper. I se it for my packaging too. All I do is fold it and make sure to run my nails across the fold. Then gently tear along the fold. If you wet it, you get more stringys. You can find it at the local craft stores and it is not expensive.
