I saw a deodorant soap on Etsy that had Kaolin clay in it to absorb odors. As I have made my own deodorant for years with baking soda and cornstarch, I was wondering if a soap could be made with baking soda to achieve the same type of 'deodorizing' bar. I just wasn't sure how the baking soda would affect the chemical process of saponification. Any thoughts or comments? Thanks.

For CP, I would go with essential oils instead. I would think that the baking soda would mess with your lye calculations.

Thanks! I figured there was a reason why I hadn't seen this type of soap before
