Teach Soap

Today I made a large batch of CP SOAP. I had extra molds ready in case I needed more room to pour. I had just enough traced soap left to fill a 2lb. mold about 1/2 way. So, my question is: If I let the soap set up over night, then make a new batch of soap the next day - can I score the top of the soap with a fork, in the 2lb. mold that's been setting all night, and pour some newly traced soap on top of that (to finish filling the mold) and will it stick together to make a nice added layer?? That should work. Just make sure that both layers go through forced gel. I don't score the top of the soap when I make layers.

I've not done that the next day. I *have* done it where I made the first layer first, done a couple other batches, then came back to it and put a second layer on...

Soapbuddy is right! I did it this weekend with a layer of ginger on the bottom and a layer of grapefruit poured the second day--but I gelled the heck out of it and it is sticking well.

What doesn't work well is to pour a layer, add a thin line of mica and then pour another layer the next day and not gell. Ask me how I know.

Yes, I put in the oven and promptly forgot about it so it cooked about 1.5 hours! Oh well.
