Teach Soap

I want everyone to know that we made our first batch of goat milk soap with oatmeal at supersoaps in his soap kitchen over the weekend! I also learned from him that I do not have to use boraxo in every batch!! He even sent us home with everything we made plus some equipment he was not using and a 5 gallon bucket of coconut oil he just gave to me! He and his wife were so gracious and she fed us lunch and dinner cause we were there all day. Annes husband even went so they could talk football and stuff. He is younger than I thought and everything he said is true about being a football player and outdoor guy and the languages. He has an adorable accent! Just want everyone to know he is no liar! They own a vineyard and winery somewhere in Italy so they will be gone a few weeks. He even said I can come to ride there horses while they are gone. Thanks everyone for your help!!! I will post photos after I learn how!! Keep his mom in your thoughts cause she is very ill I think terminal in Italy.

I think he was embarassed about how things went down on here. He only lives like 20 minutes from my Mom. He will be gone for a while I think. I did not invite myself he and his wife know my Moms boyfriend. It is a long story anyway. I just wanted to say he is really nice and was very helpful to me and my friend. Please keep his Mom in your thoughts because I think she got real bad a couple days ago. Mella I am sure he would help you if you wanted. He is super nice.

We made goat milk gardenia and oatmeal. He learned it was my Moms favorite and said we make it for her. We also made a arabian spice with goat milk to show us how fast it will trace. It was the first times we made goat milk soap. Our other batches we made with water and always was using borax because that is how we learned. He said you do not have to use borax for a good soap. We used castor oil to and he said it will make better lather but not to use more than 5%. I took so many notes that I got writers cramp!!

You did very well Celeste. Your methodology and techniques are very accomplished for having only several batches under your belt. You're also very kind and thank you for the compliments. Your recipes produce a very smooth bar. I'd keep the borax in the closet....but that's just a personal preference. I won't be going anywhere for another couple of days.
