ok, so it can either say "AY" or Y6, if you flip it around correct? At least you've got "ay" couple of options lol....sorry. Anyways, it did give me a chuckle on the left side of the page when it tries to sell you t-shirts mugs etc, with that picture on it. I'm gonna be doing several different MP bars pretty soon for my website and I'm sure I'll have plenty of pictures to send too :D

True black is a hard one to get. I'm glad to hear it's non-bleeding though.

Hey everyone!

I made a layered lilac loaf the other day and was all excited to cut it up and have a beautifully layered purple bar of soap. BUT... only two of the four layers really stuck together so I wound up with chunks of soap instead of bars. I did the alcohol between layers and everything so I'm not totally sure why this happened. Any clues or words of advice are greatly appreciated!!

I would attach a photo but I can't seem to get it to work right now. Just imagine a giant pile of purple chunks and you've got the idea. :D

I'm no expert, by any means, but I believe it's hard to get layers to stick if you wait too long between pours. The previous layer must still be slightly warm. That's my understanding from reading comments in the forum.

Having started this thread I feel I kind of have to own up to ... everything!

So ... thought it would be a smart idea to buy a cheap bath duck, cut the bottom out of it and use it as a mould. Sensible? I thought so. But, of course, the inside of the mould isn't like the outside, is it? Lesson 1! (But it could have been ... )

Then the experiment. I wanted to embed a mini bath bomb inside the soap ... OH and I were crying with laughter when we (eventually) unmoulded it. (If you're viewing this with children, I suggest you minimise your screen now!) Trepanned Duck.jpg

Apart from the fact that the poor duck looks as though it's been smacked soundly in the face, its brain (the bath bomb, which wasn't meant to sink) is exposed for all to see and that the rest of it's lopsided, to say the least, the good bit (!) is that the bath bomb didn't 'bomb'. Anyone got any ideas as to how to make the bomb stick to the soap, though?

It's bad and very sad, isn't it?!!!

my first time at doing the 'angle' thing which i think i did a good job with except i poured the top layer too hot and the white mixed in with it, but still looks ok i think. Problem is, cant really use the soap - its itchy as hell! thanks for the help in my other thread though, going to try this again :) its scented with Margarita fo
