You may have heard that the Eastern Seaboard of the US got covered with several feet of snow. We already made snow cream (ice cream made out of snow), but I've been dreaming of making soap with the snow! The problem is my favorite recipe calls for palm oil and I'm all out. I'm not about to try and drive to the store in THIS snow. So, any ideas for a good soap recipe using only olive oil and/or canola oil and a little coconut oil. I can only spare about 16 oz each of the olive and canola and I only have about 4 oz of coconut. I've never made an all olive oil soap, I've heard it is a bit tricky. Any advice?

Have you tried this site it seems to do magic for me when fiddling around with oils! Are you having a snowed in day, you might like to play with this site some. Nice you have the computer connection to do some investigating too!

http://www.soapcalc.net/calc/soapcalcWP.asp

It calculates your recipes just put the number in the colored spots, the tutorial help page is pretty good to help you figure it out.

Good luck with all that snow sending warm breeze messages your way! :)

i think that calculator is so cool I've learned a lot from it regarding hardness and creamy and cleansing!

Haven't had snow ice cream in too many years to mention in public! LOL
