Teach Soap

I am so confused. I have been all over the internet trying to learn the basics of soapmaking, but I'm really lost in all of the terms used. Is there anywhere here, or elsewhere, where I can learn the language of soapmaking. I am determined to make my first batch of soap within the next week. So I need to cram! Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Well my suggestion is go to the Brambleberry web site, order a soap kit, or lotion or one kit or another and then join in the multiple conversations. You will then have picked up a rudimentary vocabulary, well I did and it was such fun that 3 months later here I am welcoming another new person!!!

So welcome to soapers heaven on earth! Come on in the water is just great!!

Welcome. You can learn a lot from the people on this site, but I would suggest you purchase a good book on soapmaking. I stated with a couple of books and read a lot of the posts on this site. After a few months it started to make sense. But I'm still learning.
