In another thread, someone posted a link to the list colorants on Brambleberry.com that are non-bleeding. Thank you! I was wondering if the same list exists for fragrance oils that are crystal clear and won't yellow my soap.

Guess such a list doesn't exist. Maybe people can post the FOs they know are clear? I know that SoapQueen mentions Pearberry in her videos. Anything else?

I would love a list too,all l know is add Bubblegum to your don't use list tried making ducks on their ponds and instead of the ponds having nice clean looking water the poor ducks ended up looking like they were swimming through a swamp

Read the whole descriptions of the scents, many times they will say if it discolors and how much. Generally, anything with vanilla, patchouli, sandalwood, amber, cinnamon will definitely go dark to some level--- unless it says otherwise in the description. Try to buy a small bottle and make a batch first to see how it does in your recipe, then if you like it you can get a larger bottle--- which saves you money in the long run

Hmmmm, I guess I thought the ones that discolor over time are the ones with the high vanillin content but what about the oils that aren't clear in the bottle and tint the soap immediately? Or is it that any oils which aren't perfectly clear out of the bottle will eventually discolor the soap over time due to high vanillin? I'm just trying to find scents I can use in clear soap or white soap. Would a strawberry scent have vanillin? Because even that one is quite yellow.

It's a trial and error thing. Some FO's are clear, yet they will discolor your soap. Some are very pale yellow and they won't discolor. Usually any fragrance that has more than 2% vanilla content will most likely discolor. Have you tried a vanilla stabilizer?

I'm not a huge fan of the scent but I had some BB Kumquat that I soaped with. No discoloring at all..

Try White Ginger and Amber, Lily of the Valley and Cucumber Melon, my soap stayed pretty white with these.
