I'm trying a different tinypic link since the previous one only posted a link to the pic and not the actual pic.
(I have so much trouble with posting pics on here!:(

I think these "tragedies" are actually one of a kinders! They all look good to me - I would definitely give them to someone just to cheer their day

Your soaps are beautiful Lisa, they should sell well ,all l can think of is the competition for sales on Etsy is enormous so much choice, its a wonder to me how anybody can make money from selling there.
Love your cupcakes,do you use a silicone mold for them?.I have tried doing the swirl topping myself and ended up with blobs instead of swirls and they sort of looked like my shoulder did after a seagull did its business on me.

Hilarious - I love the luve soap. That is classic. We have lots of bad soaps around here during Soap Queen experimentation times so I'll be sure to share them when we get a doozy. We're working on bird nests for Easter which should produce some really horrific soaps.

Meeshee love your commentary! I can't tell you how many times I haven't left well enough alone! LOL!

I thought the Luve soap was grand so sorry to hear further into the loaf it fell further into disrepair! LOL Felt tip pen anyone??

As for the etsy shop soaps, I thought they looked lovely. You site looks nice to me and I'm thinking that you are lucky to have product this time of year on one hand, and on the other I think people perhaps are suffering from shopping malaise. I hope it picks up for you this weekend and I bet it does for Valentine's day. Good luck

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the encouragement and support! I agree the state of the economy probably does have a lot to do with slow sales especially right after Christmas. It just amazes me though when I look at other shops with the same type of product and they're selling like crazy right now. My husband says they probably have regular customers and I'm sure he's right about that.

Sorry for the double post :) I thought I'd "preview" it first since I have so much trouble with the tinypic getting the right size on here. I didn't realize that I was posting it. I thought I did that when I "submitted" it. Is there any way to remove 1 of them? At least now I know what "preview" means. :)

Captnbubbles and Pops1-I used silicone molds for the letters and for the cupcakes. I could never make a good cupcake with it and have to hand it to you pops1 for even trying to make the icing by hand. You're very brave! I love silicone molds and I'm now trying to buy only silicone if I can. Problem is they are so expensive but they are definitely worth it. I can't tell you how many times I've torn the clear plastic type molds but the silicone molds seem to last forever and they don't get bent or torn. I wish Brambleberry had more silicone molds.
Thanks again for saying such nice things!
Lisa

Meeshee and lisal0102 I think both your soaps look great! I've had a few disasters too but because I'm using M & P, they seem to be more in the line of layers separating when I unmold. When I was making my watermelon slice I thought I could imbed thin black rods in it to look like seeds. Thought I'd use clear instead of white soap and added colour till I got what looked like a lovely black. Poured and set then unmolded and I have a handful of fabulous murky grey worms! Totally unusable and really icky looking! We don't really do Halloween here so not too sure what to do with them! I've kept them tho - as you do :)
I'm still new to soap making so I'm sure will have plenty more tragedies as I go along!

Couldn't you remelt them, and add more colour? Clear is good - I always use it when I want black. Did you use something else for the seeds, or have you put watermelons in the "too hard" basket? :(

I was thinking they'd look nice coiled into a white soap? I must admit I was totally over the whole thing and just made my watermelons with no seeds! They sell real watermelon as seedless so that was my reasoning!! I just lost the plot and said "too hard!".

I used a black liquid dispersion. It says black cosmetic colour on the website. Should I have used a powder? Or maybe just more?
