I'm just curious. I recently took a shower and looked at the soap I had made and said, what the heck? I washed my hair with it. My hair was clean, but a bit heavier than normal. Have any of you done this? Is there an additive I could use that would let my soap serve as both: bar soap and shampoo?

I haven't any hair but I have always used soap on my head but agree with soapbuddy that it is a little bit on the dry side.

Use lighter oils like Almond and Castor. Palm and Palm Kernel seem to be too heavy for your hair. ( To me anyway.) Stay away from Hydrogenated oils in general for hair.

I use my soap for shampoo. I've used each kind I've made: Clear, Shea, Hemp (my fav), Goats Milk...and I like the results. I now carry my own soap when I travel and use it for the body as well as the hair. My hair is short & very fine and all the soaps make me think I have a fuller head of hair (grin).
