I made the first part of this recipe (for the cut out hearts) and popped the batch into the fridge to stop it from gelling. How long do I have to keep it in there before I can take it out? Since the recipe has beeswax in it, it set up fast, but I still have to wait awhile before cutting out the hearts for the soap. I will make the rest of the recipe (part 2 and 3) tomorrow and finish it up. Should I pop the whole thing into the fridge and avoid gel or should I let it reach gel stage on it's own?

Thanks.

If the hearts are small, you can leave them in there for at least a couple of hours. What I would do is while you are waiting for the hearts, get the rest of the batch ready. Put on gloves and cut the hearts if the soap is solid enough to cut. Then put them back in the fridge while you make the main batch. Pour the mail batch into your mold then embed the hearts. If the hearts are inside the soap I would gel so they stick together. If they are on top, I wouldn't gel so they don't melt.

Disclaimer: I haven't seen Soap Queen's method for this, but this is what I would do if that was me.
