Honey makes a great additive to soapmaking and I use it for my oatmeal, milk, and honey soaps. I use honey from a local apiary. I use up to 1 tbs per lb in my base. You would have to experiment to see how much your base will hold without compromising the lather. Local honey is strained and cleaned up before they sell it and tastes better than store brand honey. Additionally, locally produced honey has more benefits than the commercial honey at your grocers.
Honey is loaded with vitamins and nutrients and is a natural preservative. It also helps skin maintain moisture and is naturally hypo allergenic. I sell a ton of honey soap and oatmeal, milk, and honey soap.
If you don't want to add the honey yourself you can also purchase honey M&P bases. The honey is already in the base so you know its the right amount. But its not real honey, its the powdered kind.
