This is a beautiful soap and I do not know how to make a soap with a lovely lumpy top. Do YOU? Is there a mold or a technique that one must use?

Thanks for any help.

Wow, Mella. Isn't that gorgeous! I do hope someone knows the answer, because I'd LOVE to do some soaps like that.

That looks like CP soap that was poured at a heavy trace. The top was most likely done with a spoon or a chopstick.

So there isn't a silicone type mold to accomplish this?

Is it whipped like cream and used like frosting? There must be a book that describes this process.

For a whipped cream like topping, you could try whipped soap. http://nizzymoulds.com/Whipped/Pioneers.htm
I was one of the ones that originally made it with him.

Thank you so much soap buddy, I've seen that and I don't think it is the same process that produced this soap.
(See first post for proper link)

What process do you think produced this soap? Perhaps someone else can tune in with a clue :?

Ok Suzanne here is the best I could locate so far, and from Nizzy thanks soapbuddy. It isn't exactally what I was looking for but the photos are nice, the process sounds doable and perhaps depending on the amount of whipping will give the more solid bottom of the loaf texture I would like with the lumpy frosting look of the top. Does that make any sense at all?? Good night ladies, good night Gracie.

I took another detailed look at that soap. It is cold process that has been swirled. Some of the uncolored portion she probably held back and used a piping bag like you use for frosting for part of the top. I also see curved plain purple CP pieces embedded into the top. If you don't gel your soap it takes longer to saponify, so it would give you more time to play with it.

Almost fainted when I clicked on the link and that is my friend Linda who started me making soaps. Although since I am still not ready to try the lye I'm still doing m&P. She makes beautiful soaps but they are not melt and pour, they are cold pour. She does a lot of embeds on the tops of her soaps and spoons I know. I can ask her for specific details if anybody wants.

OMG!! I saw her soaps on ebay when I was looking for some soap molds. She has inspired me to be CREATIVE...yay! I thought they were so pretty that I knew she has to be an artist! It looks to me like she simply whisked up the top part and maybe added some soap shavings to her other soaps? I like the shaved toppings with the glitter she does on some of her other soaps!

Does anyone know how to make key lime pie soap or margarita soap? Are there fragrances in those scents? Thanks so much!

Mella, those are beautiful! I really like the color combo. What is the dark line? What fragrance(s) did you use?
