On page 72 towards the bottom Barbara from Oasis soap posted some lovely handmade soap gems! The colors and the marbled swirls are so realistic. In a few of the photos there is a glimpse of an acrylic piece that looks like a sopa dish. Does anyone know where I might pick up a few they would be so great for photos and also airing a just used soap :?: .

Thank you everyone! Oh and bless us all this season!

PS.Oh and I hope my avatar works it is Mauser the Scorpion King a bengal domestic cat not allowed immigration into the state of Hawaii. Bengals are specifically not allowed importation, even though at this point in their ancestry they are pure domestic pets and the most pedigreed cat in the USA. Woops that is a different soapbox

Hi Mella, Maybe I can help  I've been quite busy lately, so haven't been on this thread lately.

We've had that little acrylic stand a long time, and have no clue when we got it. Once the sun comes up, I'll take a photo so you can see exactly what it is. It's a stand for displaying things, not a soap dish. I think at one time we might have had a marble sphere on it. Both sides are the same height, and slant in slightly. I gave the measurements on another thread, and think if I remember right, the base is 3 x 3.5, and it's about 2 inches tall. Sometimes the little "arms" are a bit too far apart to hold the soaps, but generally it works pretty well.

Actually, you can see more of it in this photo of my newest soap. This was taken from above it, and slightly to the front. Image.

I actually have some soap dishes on my website here: They are made from beechwood and would also be nice for photographing. I just want as much light as possible to come through my soaps for photography.

Here is a photograph of the little stand I use when photographing my soaps. Not perfect, but will do until something better comes along. The arms are 2 inches high.

Thank you Barbara for the photo. I have seen that plastic display type contraption before, just can't remember where. It will come to me! I have seen your soap dishes and will order soon after the first of the year ho ho ho! The Office Depot one is too thin for a robust bar that is for sure, but for display or photos, or for sample s izes in my kitchen, it is fine.

Your soap gems are so lovely, full of color and life. Beautiful truly. Isn't it great there is a style for every one to enjoy and one for everyone to produce!

At last, some of my projects. Nowhere near as artistic as some of your offerings, but I was pretty chuffed with them, as my first attempts at M&P.

More will follow later - that's a threat, not a promise!!

SO Cute! The chocomint reminded me of an ice cream sandwich at first. Good Job!

The top one reminds me of Niagra Falls! They look to be about 3 oz.

Very cute, SueBre! They really do look like food, and I love the look of the Allsorts.

Baraka, gorgeous soaps, as usual! :)

Here are a few I've added to my inventory lately:

Sunrise ("Energy" scent):

Lavender:

Nag Champa:

Here's something I made when I was just playing around. I had so many scraps left over, mostly from when I'd trim the ends of my loaf slab. I hate to waste soap, so I cut up the scraps and embedded them in some clear base. These are for my personal use, since labeling them would be a logistical nightmare. I wonder if all of the different scents will be a symphony for the nose, or completely disgusting:

Great work, everybody! Soap pics are so fun!

Not relevant to this thread, particularly (but all the 'corrugated' soaps I've seen on here have been perfect); can anyone tell me where I can get a corrugated cutter (in the UK) which cuts the whole width of a soap slice? the one I have cuts straight-corrugated-straight, and the slices look horrid. or, if not horrid, just not very appealing. OK ... so it was designed for cutting fancy chips, but ... !
