Teach Soap

My apologies for that last note. I'm sure it was confusing. It did not refer to this code, but to a message I keep receiving when I try to post to this forum, or visit a page. Several tries are necessary to get in.

I did try with just a number, and no improvement. All I know to do, until I learn how to get this to work, is to just do "Buy Now" buttons for each size. Shame, as I know there is a simple answer hidden somewhere. I don't know how to find others who use this software. I'll try to find a way to email these people - but as I'm using a free version, not sure that is an option.

Operative word "free" --- maybe there is some forum for the software you can post a question. Keep your expectations low for 'service' and maybe just maybe they will 'wow' you with help and actually help you find the answer.

Keep us posted - because now I must know if you do come accross a solution

I think I figured out the problem. Barbara, I sent you an email about it but just in case you check here first. You don't have the server name at the beginning of the button html code. So it doesn't know where to go. Add that to every button as the first line in the html code and you should be up and running. I hope that is all there is to it. Let me know.

Ooooh - makes sense but I did not look at the code directly...one thought in addition to what Haven said - don't code *all* the buttons. Just do *one* of your soaps first and see how that works.

I finally got back to this project, but was never able to figure out how to make the cart work with the drop down box ....... so I gave up on that. I just have a Buy Now link by each option.

I would like to thank those of you who were so kind and helpful, trying to help solve this problem. You gave your time selflessly, and I do appreciated it so much.

If you would like to see how this finally ended, here it is.... I jsut finished it, haven't checked it as I ran out of time, but am SO confident that it is going to work.

Haven, thank you again for all your help, and for checking on the cart. Now my next challenge is keeping it current as soaps sell. This is the down side to doing such individualized soaps. Some of those options only have one or two bars available.

Funny you should ask at this time. All day today I've thought I needed to come to this thread and thank everyone.

YES! It got done, and is one of the reasons I've been really scarce around here! I used Mals-E Commerce at . I never figured out how to make the drop down box to take the orders, but the rest was easy, after I got the hang of it. It's been working extremely well for me, with orders coming in every day. I'm just having a heck of a time keeping my inventory straight, and updated on the order page. Here it is: . I'm assuming things will slow down after Christmas. I could use the break!

Good for you, Barbara! Congratulations and Merry Christmas! Your soaps look fantastic. I'm glad you're doing so well. I didn't have anything to do with helping, but I'm really happy for you.

I have a respectable sized mailing list of my horse and art contacts. I created a webpage, emailed it to my list, and that generated many of the sales. Some just found me one way or another. That has always worked well for me, whether I'm selling something to do with the horses, art, or whatever. Before the cart, I got no orders off my website.
