Thank you Capt Bubbles! I'm trying...I recently started selling on Etsy so I'm still learning but it's very nice to hear nice things when you're trying something new. Please check me out and you can see everything I'm taking pictures of these days.

Thanks!

Gosh, thanks everyone :D !! And, yes, the MP are my first attempts....I only started MP this fall, and the maple leaf soap was the very first one! I am really enjoying it, and it has allowed me to start to paint again--yeah!

Making the swirls on my CP soaps is so much fun---I have to stop myself from 'swirling' too much. The key is getting just the right consistency of soap to do the swirl---you need it 'thin' but not too thin. And doing the 2 color swirl is a challenge :)

I am in awe of everyone's creativity. Please keep sharing!! Every soap is amazing!

Merry Christmas from our home to yours.....

Susan

Thank you everyone for the great compliments! I just gave the lavender one to my friend that ordered the entire loaf. I put all the bars into lavender organza bags (after I put them in the plastic bag complete with ribbon of course) which made a beautiful presenation. She was very happy with her purchase.

Phew! - I can't keep up with all the new soap flaunts - it's really amazing those last few posts.

sbp - love the black/white swirls
redfishingirl - nice
lisa - I love the lavendar one. Did you use a cheese slicer to get those shaving/curls or a grater? If you are comfortable sharing. I've not gone there yet with the technique but want to. Not sure if there is something special one needs to do?

In response to CaptainBubbles - I think in a previous post you asked about the FO's. Right now I'm working between Naturesgarden and Brambleberry. There is a local retailer in my town where I was buying the fragrances orginally from (she has a fairly good selection) - then went to both BB and Naturesgarden (they have some very distinct fragrances that I'll never find on her shelf) but at a quick glance at my costs recently - I'm beginning to see that the prices are not that off when I start to add shipping into the mix. I may go back to her for some basic fragrances *or* see if she will give me a price break by buying more than 1 oz. So there you have it.

Thank you asliceofdelight! As far as the curls in the lavender soap go, yes I did use a cheese shaver and I found that it worked very easily and quickly. I made a soap similar to this about 6 mos ago and I didn't know about the shaver so I hand rolled some circles and placed them in the loaf so that each 1" bar got one swirly circle.

Here's a picture of the old lavender soap that I'm talking about. I think I'll continue to use the shaving method from now on. And not to butt in on the FO discussion but I started out buying everything from BB and I spent a lot of money getting started out on this soaping endovor so I went looking around on the internet for better deals on comparable items and I'm pretty much buying everything from Wholesaleplussupplies.com now. Their prices and service can't be beat but I do still love BB for items I can only get there such as the low sweat M&P base and you know what I mean.

I hope this isn't huge again!

Thanks again!

Oh no! It's huge again. Can anyone please tell me which link I should copy when I use tinypic.com? I had a note from last time when I was told to choose the email/website size for my photo after uploading, then paste the link for msg boards in the post here. I've been picking the 2nd one down for forums and message boards so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I'm going to try something else here and we'll see if it works and the image is smaller.

They have 4 different choices and here's what I've copied from their site:

HTML for Websites (i've never tried this one)
IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards (this is the one I've been picking from)
URL for E-Mail & IM (this is the one I picked when I tried to fix my first posting and it just put links on there)
Direct Link for Layouts (i've never tried this one)

Do you know which one I should pick from?

Thanks for your help!

I want to see if this is the right size. My husband said maybe I should shrink it on my computer before I use the tinypic. He's an IT guy so we'll see if he's right.

Hi everyone!
Sorry I've been so absent lately! Things have been nutty, but have no fear - I'm still making soap like crazy!

I have loved checking out everyone's photos. I think I read through 20 pages just now! It's really exciting to see the Soapylove molds being used in your projects, too. Very encouraging!! :)

My latest project will be posted on The Soap Queen soon:

Stay tuned for the full tutorial, loosely scheduled to be posted on Monday, 12/14.

I look forward to seeing some of you this weekend at The Nova Studio!
