hi,
lam new to this forum mostly hang around the Down 2 Earth fourm. l have a question
l have made goats milk soap for the first time, uasllay made pain soap, any way the soap
is very oily leaking out of made soap and it has air gaps in it. what if anything did l do wrong.

also what can l do with rosemary and lemon balm in soap l need a recipe.

What was your recipe? How warm was it when you mixed the oils and lye together? Did you use a stick blender? How much did you superfat? If you need another recipe try the Kathy Miller soap web site.

l used the cold press recipe, froze the milk over night, put the milk in a jug then in a glass bowl of ice
it melted a bit. took it out of the ice and had to put it on the stove because it then stopped melting.

It needs to be slushy for all the lye to melt. Next time use minimum water required to dissolve the lye, then add the rest as milk at room temperature. I would rebatch your first batch. It sounds like not all the oil has saponified.

You reheated the goat milk with the lye in it?

Maybe I am wrong, but what I am getting is that Poodle reheated the lye solution, not that she rebatched.

I make almost exclusively Goats Milk Soaps and it sounds to me like either the batch was improperly mixed, the measurements were off or it was to hot when put together. Any of these 3 things could cause what you described. Check your recipe to make sure you had the right amounts of everything and if so, as soapbuddy said I would try and rebatch it and see how it comes out. If you rebatch just make sure you get all of the oil that has leaked out back in the pot.
