I'm planning a soap with some oatmeal (the finely ground kind). Are there any tricks to adding this at trace and not getting lumps? I tried it once before and did get some little lumps, trying to avoid it this time. Thanks a bunch.

When I do my oatmeal soap, I finely ground it and then just whisk it in at light trace. I whisk it for a couple of minutes and I haven't had any lumps of oatmeal.

I stick blend it into my oils before adding the lye.

I added to the oils like you suggested (sifted it a little at a time). Worked like a charm. Thanks so much. Every little tip helps make it more enjoyable to make soap, and take a little of the Newbie anxiety out of it all.
