ok i have my supplies and scared to death to try my frist batch of soap ..i have liquid green and liquid red..sleigh ride sugar plum fairy hop apple pie and passionfruit rose..i would like to make some 3layered soaps i saw a vidio on using cookie cutters!!! any suggestions to do with these colors and frangrance????help

Soaping is so exciting and so much fun that I can understand wanting to try more complex methods from the start. :) However, I recommend that you make a few small, simple batches and wait a bit on 3 layers and colorants. It won't be long before you can do those. It's such a help to become comfortable with the process, learn to recognize trace, know how everything works together and have it all make sense. It's laying a successful foundation to build on. A one or two pound batch with a non-accellerating fo is a super idea to start with, IMO.

Good luck with your first batch!

Eta: Are you doing CP or MP? Initially I thought it was CP. :?

thank you ladies for such good advice...well i did it and i used the gingerbread man kit i got from bb...maybe a bit ambitious but now its just a matter of waiting to see if they come out of the mold good...i am so excited in this new venture im hoping to use it as a second income for me and hubby!!! but for now its just fun learning and the family will get all the rejects LOL ..they do feel alittle greasy is that normal or did i use too much of something???

If the soap is greasy, sounds like you added too much of something. What did you add and how much? Do you have a scale?
