Teach Soap

Hi Everyone,

So I have been getting better and better at making body lotion (mostly because of all of you and your advice!). I no longer get clumps wahoo! So I was thinking I would attempt to make a face lotion (the one I buy at the department store is $32!!!). It seems ridiculous to pay that kind of money since I probably have all the supplies in my house. So my question is does anyone know a good face lotin recipe? Or is it possible to use a body lotion recipe on your face. I use a basic body lotion recipe consisting of shea butter, sweet almond oil, and avocado oil.

Basic body lotion recipe should be fine on your face.

That depends on what your face needs (do you have wrinkles, scars, dry skin, oily skin, acne?) I make my own face cream with shea butter, rosehip seed oil (I have acne scars) carrot seed oil (I have wrinkles) tea tree EO, geranium EO and lavender EO (just a little bit of the essential oils, they help me with acne) so far this cream has worked wonderfully for me, my face looks really good in the morning and my wrinkles have faded a little (I have very bad skin, acne, wrinkles and scars and nothing that I buy at the stores has worked so far, I have spent a lot or money on creams) but this one seems to be working.

That's why I said basic. Many other oils, butters, herbal extracts or additives can be added to your own lotion to make it just right for your skin type.
