Yesterday I made a batch of soap with following recipe:
4 oz. coconut oil
5 oz. virgin extra olive oil
6 oz. grapeseed oil
Lye: 2.1oz (3% discount + 5% default discount of Soapsheet excel file)
Water: 5 Oz

I intended to superfat 5% of Grapeseed oil at trace but I forgot  . I stirred and blend with a stainless steel stick blender and the batch got traced within 5 minutes. Then I poured into mold and cover it with newspapers. However, my brother didnt know and took it to my room after about 10 hours. So recently I checked my batch and found it looked like cheese. I also got this picture. Sorry because of lack of light in the picture.
(When my batch traced, it is very yellow, like mango).

Plz give me your ideas. Also advise me how to color my next soap SNOW WHITE?

it looks like your calculations might be a little off. So since you started out with a 3% lye discount, then you added another 5% discount of lye, does this equal to you discounting (superfattening) your batch @ 8%?

If so, I ran your recipe through the soap calc with an 8% superfat and this is what I got:

4 oz. coconut oil
5 oz. virgin extra olive oil
6 oz. grapeseed oil
Lye: 2.01 oz(8% discount)
Water: 5.7 oz

You're short on water by .7 oz and you put in .09 of too much lye. Every tenth of an ouce of lye and water counts. Maybe someone else can give their input?

To make a whiter soap, you can use hard oils that are whiter (lard, palm, coconut etc) or you can add titanium dioxide.

Good luck :)

Thanks thirstybody!
There might be some misunderstanding here :) .I tried my soap calc file again and found that changing the superfatting oil will change the number in the Total Effect Lye Discount but the needed Lye stay the same. Weird hah?
In my case, I might be wrong about "default lye discount" and I exactly used 2.1 Oz of water. I think the real lye discount is: 4.1%.
Today I tried to put my lovely tongue on my soap surface and I felt nothing (actually I dont know what is zap feeling :) ) . Do you guys think my batch is OK or it is bad, too much Lye?

For CP soap, you can add all your oils or butters up front. The lye is still active at this point, even after you add your superfat oil. The lye will take whatever it wants. You would not end up with all grapeseed superfat. If you used only 2.1 Oz of water, that's not enough to dissolve all your lye. You might end up with solid lye crystals in your soap. Could be why it looks like cheese.

Actually I use Oz in SoapCalc and convert into Gram by thesage measurement converter. I think this could make a little inaccuracy.

I had to put my plastic mold in freezer 20mins, it got harder. But still sticky then my patience was out so I cut my mold off  . What u see is the bottom, still sticky. The top surface stayed the same, with some cracks because of unmolding. I licked the top and no zip I think.
