Teach Soap

I'll try a small batch tomorrow with a different fragrance and see how it goes.

I'm new here and at soaping, been lurking for awhile looking at everyone's beautiful projects. I ordered some stuff from BB and have been wanting to give it a try. I decided to post my first non-practice project, the swirl loaf, I think it came out ok. The scent is Yuzu and the name is Annabelle Blue. My sweet kitty Annabelle got outside on sunday and I made the soap to help distract myself from worrying about her (we're still trying to bring her home safe). It's blue (like me) but the scent is happy, so it helped cheer me a bit and I named it in her honor. I'm wanting to get into etsy and craft fairs but am unsure I will be skilled or unique enough. The swirl loaf kit from BB was great and I learned a lot about MP making it. Here it is.

Awwwhhh so sorry about your cat, when ours didn't come home for 4 days, hub had a bit of a cry too. Really lovely soap, excellent for a newbie!!

Hilary, I will be taking up your TKB offer sometime so maybe send some then??!! They're funny looking.. and that site is mad!!! You have totally different sweets over there (have tasted Hersheys, NOT a fan I'm afraid except for the peanut butter thingies.. Reese's?)

Wow! That swirled bar is great! Definitely looks professional. Wish I could get mine to look that good!

I am sad about your cat, though. Maybe she didn't stray too far from home. Maybe someone brought her inside? I hope you find Annabelle soon!

Just wanted to update everyone on my cloudy embedded soap. I just checked them and the cloudiness has mostly disappeared -- all by itself.

I couldn't get the soap out of the molds, so put them in the freezer for 15 minutes. I'm wondering if that caused the temporary clouded effect?

Anyway, I'm much happier with my first attempt at embeds now!

I do plan to use a bit of blue in the next batch of clear I make. Right now I'm working on opaque soaps for my family for Christmas.

The snowflake is just tiny snowflake soaps embedded into clear with blue behind it. The mosaic soap is made by using a dropper filled with soap onto a clear layer. It takes forever, and a LOT of mica. But it may just be my favorite soap!
