Hi all!!!

I'm looking for a company that sells Candy Corn FO. And I was wondering if you put Vanilla Stabilizer in your soap, and don't need it, will it hurt the soap? Or can you put it in just in case you do need it?

I've wondered the same thing about adding the vanilla stabilizer "just in case." I used BB's Hollyberry and I added vanilla stabilizer to it because it says it discolors orange/peach. The orange/peach made me think "citrus," discoloration-wise (in which case the v.s. probably wouldn't help you), but with the cinnamon and cardamom and holiday spiciness, I thought it might be vanilla so I added some stabilizer just to be sure. Don't actually know the vanilla content of the Holly Berry, and it didn't seem like from the description that there was much citrus in it.

Anyhoo, haven't had any discoloration (my soap was green and merlot mica), but wondered if I needed the v.s. and if it's okay to add it just in case. Wouldn't think it would be harmful, but you might risk discoloration or murkiness from the v.s.?

I sure would like a BB vanilla content chart on the new website! (Hint, hint ... )I've been looking for it and I haven't found it, unless I'm totally missing it. There's a "Click here" link for the vanilla content chart, but no vanilla content chart, unless I'm completely blind.

Oh, and by the way, 2Addicted2Soap, I used BB's "Butter Cream and Snickerdoodle" F.O. for my candy corn soap. I smelled it and thought "Candy Corn," and my craft fair customers say it smells like candy corn, too.

You definitely want to use a vanilla color stabilizer with Buttercream and Snickerdoodle. It discolors something awful. I used a vanilla stabilizer this time around, and it still discolored slightly to an ivory (but it still looks very good, and it has been five weeks)!

Ha Ha thats funny asliceofdelight because I bought the candy corn fragrance off of Nature's Garden the other day! Along with a few other scents too do you buy from there often? Any suggestions for their fragrances? Have you tried their "Bite Me" fragrance, I bought it because it had good reviews.

Thanks for the tip about the eggnog fo. I was considering getting it because my fiance LOVES eggnog...though he said the thought of eggnog scented soap was weird lol the scents I bought were : toasted marshmellow (reviews said it smelled good, hope it really does), bite me, true banana, candy corn, butt naked, candy cane, christmas tree, and the body safe apple cinnamon

I was wondering how long fo's are good for, a few fo's that I bought from WSP have a sticker that says best if used by...anyone know what happens after that date? Does the fo lose it's fragrance or turn sour or something?

Some fragrances can change over time. It's best if they are used within a year or so.

Soapbuddy - you have a closet of FO's - I'm so envious. My house is very small (2 bed/1 ba. - over 100 years old so back then I guess people did'nt have much "stuff") -- I have a few baskets and need to keep the turnover --- or rethink our spacial situation here.

So does this mean in general you can use VS and also another Color with it, if you don't want it to be plain white?
