I am so upset! :x Just as I've quoted this great flat rate box bargain to all my customers, USPS has pulled a fast one on us!!! My small postoffice doesn't carry enough of these boxes to trust them having the sizes when needed...... soooo, I ordered some from USPS. I was shocked when they arrived!!! They have CUT THE SIZE DRAMATICALLY!!!!!!. The small flat rate box is now about the size of a VHS tape, and the medium box is also much smaller. I didn't order the large one, but would bet it is about the size of the older medium box. I just had to SCREAM about this to someone who understands!!!! AGHHH! Now postage is going to be an issue.

That sucks. I loaded up on boxes, so I should be ok for a while.

Wish I had!! These are TINY compared to the last ones. It looks like they could have reduced them a little more gradually! Hang on to those to fill them to the max!

I did get a recent shipment of one of the flat rate boxes (don't remember which size right now) and they are very flimsy as compared to the ones I still have. That's too bad. I guess they had to cut on cost somewhere. :(

I think someone (me or my postmaster) has made a mistake. I went on USPS site to double check these boxes. I discovered that the box my postmaster has been giving me, when I asked for a small flat rate box, was actually the rectangular medium box!! That is, unless they have changed their sizing! Now if they would just make this small one in a square, lots more things would fit. This one is only 1 5/8 high.

I do think your postmaster was mistaken - I've been using these for quite a while, and while the small flat rate boxes are indeed very flimsy, the sizes have stayed the same for a long time. I really don't use the small flat rate ones, because they're not only flimsy but they aren't thick enough to hold most of my products. An extra half inch would make a world of difference!
