Teach Soap

Hi all, my name is Emma and I'm from the east coast of New South Wales of Australia. I have yet to 'dip my toe' into the world of soap making but I thought I'd join to get some insight and a bit of an idea of what to do before I actually do anything.

My first project is going to be making some salt scrub from the Foamy Bath Butter (as I recently found out my current facial salt scrub is discontinued) and at the same time I'm going to get a M & P kit and make some soaps for family and friends.. and if all goes well who knows from there!?

I'm also studying Agriculture at a residential college (I'm almost ancient to some of the students at the ripe young age of 27) and need some sanity breaks aka hobbies, at the moment they include spinning and crocheting but hopefully soap making will soon be added to the list.

You might want to try sugar instead of the salt. Salt is drying and if you have any nicks or cuts salt would sting.

I've thought about using sugar but all the sugar scrubs that I've used in the past didn't do much for my skin, however using a salt scrub has helped control my stubborn acne and barely stings. Guess I can only make a small bit and try it out, it seems that the salt is what's really helped my skin out... and maybe the bentonite help out a bit.

Salt is drying. That's probably why it's working for you.
