Here are some soaps from my second batch. How do you all cut your bars? I used some sort of spackle knife and hand cut the bars. It's hard to get even, straight cuts doing it this way. I kind of like the handcut, random look but would like the option to have evenly cut bars as well. Thanks for all your support!

Nice job Jenn!
Since I make fairly large batches, I use the Tank. It cuts with wires. I had it custom made at For Craft Sake.

Those look great! Did you miter the sides by hand? You wouldn't even want to see my 2nd batch:-)

ooooh....I could do a lot of damage on the site Soapbuddy! I've heard of people using miter boxes, so I may pick one up and see how that works.

Yes....I used a potato peeler to trim up the sides

I find it so entertaining reading about how everyone starts out and how they make use of random household items to make soap. I'm one of those peeps!

I want to make some plain lavender bars for my sister's baby shower on November 8th. If I make them in the next couple days (using CPOP) will they be cured enough to give as favors? I made a cute cigar band to go around the soap

Those look terrific! Great second batch! Good for you.

I bevel with a straight cheese cutter/shaver. It works better for me than my potato peeler. I cut with a straight cutter or a krinkle cutter but I picked up a couple of guitar strings today. DH is making me a wire cutter. Yayyy!
Has anyone else noticed that their kitchen instruments, whisks, measuring cups, etc. have turned into strictly soapmaking tools? I'm gonna have to get some new kitchen utensils....and a crockpot...and um...other stuff.

justkate....yes, I know what you mean. Just the other day, my husband was looking for a measuring spoon, which I had claimed as a soap making tool. He has no idea how much kitchen stuff is in my soap box
