I finally jumped in and made my first batch of soap last night. I used the CPOP method, which I really liked. I just cut the soap and while it cut farily easily, it seems soft still. Will it harden significantly over the next few weeks? Should I have waited longer to cut it? I added a bit of Lavender EO (not enough) and some lavender buds. Soap making is way too much fun. I'm in trouble

It should harden more as it sits.
There are some recipes that are soft though... so it depends on that as well.

It looks good though! Great job on your first batch!

Thanks all for the encouragement! Based on my recipe below, do you think this soap will be fairly hard? I want to make another batch and while I like the recipe, if it's not going to result in a hard bar, I want to tweak it a bit.

CASTOR - 1 oz
SHEA - 2 oz
COCONUT - 7 oz
PALM - 8 oz
OLIVE - 14 oz

I used a 5% Lye discount as calculated on Soapcalc

It should harden up just fine.

Castor Oil 1oz. 3.12%
Coconut Oil 7ozs. 21.88%
Olive Oil 14ozs. 43.75%
Palm Oil 8ozs. 25.00%
Shea Butter 2ozs. 6.25%
Total Weight 32 ozs.

For that size batch, you will need 8 to 12 ozs. of water and 4.47ozs. of lye for a 5% superfat.

Thanks all. I'm going to make another batch today and was wondering if anyone could advise about using the CPOP method with orange essenial oil. I've gotten the impression that certain oils will overheat using this method. I want to do a Lavender orange combo.

Orange will fade in soap, unless you use 5X or 10X folded orange oil. CPOP is like cold process, except after you pour, you put it in a low temp oven til it completely gels.
