I ordered some soaps that I liked the look of because I received a soap sample when ordering wash cloths from and Etsy seller. There were no ingredients listed on the label. The soaps look like CP, but different. I asked the seller for the ingredients and she said her soaps look different because she uses a cold process coconut milk base and mixes it with glycerin. This is new to me....what could this be? It's not rebatching, because the soaps are very smooth. It's doesn't look like any M&P I've ever seen. The soaps was paper wrapped. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Can you post a picture of it? It's odd she didn't give you a list of ingredients as most soapers will even if it's not on the package. Maybe she used melt and pour with CP or did a CP batch using coconut milk and liquid glycerin.

That looks like Melt N' Pour to me. She probably just added a few extra ingredients. I'm surprised that she didn't give you the ingredients either. I am proud of my creations and will always list what's in it.

Thanks for your comment Ginger!

It looks like something between M&P and CP. It was wrapped in tissue, with no other wrapping and there was no sweating. It is nice looking. I've bought different CP and M&P, but they are usually identifiable. Wonder what ingredients would be added to create this?

She does M&P. It may be a coconut milk M&P base along with a clear, but it's M&P, not CP. I looked at her Etsy listings including the one for that soap. Not being privy to the conversation, I won't comment on that. I would write back and specifically ask for an ingredient label or list of ingredients though. You know, an "Oh, I'm sorry I wasn't more clear, but I need an ingredient label or list to ensure that I'm not allergic to anything." Good luck! :D

I asked for ingredients list and she simply stated coconut base with glycerin. I'm sure she would give it to me if I asked again. The box has no ingredients listed and I had expected to get more information with my order. Since the soap doesn't sweat and is wrapped in tissue, how can it be glycerin M&P as I know it? It's a nice looking soap.

Thanks!

I use MP base from BrambleBerry and mine doesn't sweat. Since she seems so hesitant to give you the ingredient list, I'm pretty positive it's MP base made with coconut oil.

my two cents,
I know a few soapmakers who use melt and pour, and when they describe their ingredients as a - 'something "base" ' it usually means a "melt and pour" base. I dont think all soapmakers who use melt and pour do this, but I do believe some. That 'base' word sometimes gives me a small indication that it's usually melt and pour, but i dont always like to assume. :)

I've been on her site before and it's melt and pour and this one looks like melt and pour. I also make melt and pour along with CP and know what exactly is in my melt and pour base.

Here is her website:
