Teach Soap

I have been wondering if the palm oil I bought is sustainable. Does anyone know if Soapers Choice uses sustainable?

For what I have heard SC is sustainable.

Next question--what does Cruelty Free mean when you are talking about soap? Would goatsmilk be a "cruel" soap?

Cruelty Free means to me that the product (or an ingredient) was not tested in a lab by some animal.

Interesting! Thanks, all, for filling me in on this. Office co-worker is a PETA supporting vegetarian and was giving me grief when she found out I made goatsmilk soap, so I assumed that she thought I was hurting the goats by making the soap. But know, thanks to you all, I understand she probably was referring to the testing of the ingredients I used to make it. THANKS!

If your coworker is a vegan, than she will not use any animal products derived from animals, including milk or eggs. I suspect that is what you are running into.

I get the occasional "grief" from vegans at shows because all my soaps are goatmilk. I try to steer them to other homemade soaps and tell them what to look for on the lables. Many people don't understand what "tallowate" is and it is in many commercial soaps.
