Wow that is a shock to me that i was using so little! So about how many tablespoons is a 1/2 an ounce? I don't think my scale is acurate enough to weigh such a small amount. It makes so much sense why i wasn't getting good scent now haha. Although those bottles of EO are tiny, in a 4lb. batch do you use like half a bottle?

There are about 2 tbs in an ounce. This is weight verses volume though.... so it can be a little off. I always try to use weight. :D

For MP I usually to 1/2 an ounce of FO per pound
For CP it is more like .7 to a full ounce per pound.

It does depend on your FO's though, some are stronger than others and some work differently in soaps than others! :D

I don't know how big your tablespoon is, but I just measured it and 2 TBS. is a 1/2 oz. Are you buying your EO's wholesale?

No I haven't bought an EO's wholesale. I have just kind of been acquiring them from all different places online. Do you know or recommend a good wholesale place? I in Boston, MA if you happen to know any close by.

2 tbs. for a 1/2 an ounces seems like a lot of EO. I will definately need to buy bigger quantities. So for a 4 lb. batch of cp. I should probably use some where in the 6-9 tbs. range to get a good scent, is that correct?

I would suggest if you are able to buy online, to get essential oils from our forum owner; BrambleBerry: http://www.brambleberry.com/Essential-Oils-C157.aspx
For a 4 lb. batch I would start around 2.4 oz. of EO.

Thanks Soap Buddy! I would say the majority of my EO's are from BB. With the exception of a few that I couldn't get from them (like ginger, but I really hate the ginger from the other company, so if BB starts caring it I would definately get it from them). Shipping all the way across the country kills me though. Do they ever have free shipping promotions?
