I make really fun roll on perfumes with FO purchased at Brambleberry. My favorites (a little bit of floral, fruity, etc):
Mayan Gold
Chai Tea
Cybilla Romance
Cybilla Raspberry and Violets
Relaxing
Cybilla Juniper Breeze
Energy

I love Heather and Hyacynth, and Plumeria, but they don't sell well here.
I dislike Rosehip Jasmine, White Magnolia and Cybilla White Lily and they sell like hotcakes!

I also make an extraordinary cream with Shea Butter and just a hint of Oatmeal Milk and Honey which is a huge seller!

I can't stand walking around smelling like a snack (food scents) so I really don't offer them. However, what I can NOT keep on the shelf is anything made with Bramble Berry's Sea Moss. No joke and it goes with everything, soap candles, bath salts. I could never move my bath salts until I provided a special blend of oils in Sea Moss. Now I get calls from the boutique for more salts???

Oh and it's TOTALLY gender neutral. Can't beat that!

I got a sample of the kumquat in my last order, and I have to admit, I like it! I tried one of Anne-Marie's recipes and combined with cucumber melon, and wasn't too enthralled with it-to me it smelled like orange Tang!!

Well, if the foody scents are still good for this year, I'm doing good, cuz it seems like that's all I like and have!

The Sea Moss at first didn't do anything for me, but it definitely grew on me. I tried it with Spruce Balsam Musk, half/half, and was really surprised at how good it smelled! It's a good gender-neutral scent.

We have a craft fair cominig up in about 5 weeks. I'm freaked because the last craft fair, the scents I thought people would really like, they didn't; this one is a much bigger affair, and I am afraid that I'm going to choose wrong again! Fortunately, on some scents, I just do 2-3 bars.

i was actually just thinking about this...

how about going to websites of companies such as bath and body works, the body shop, etc, and see what their most popular scents are. we may not be able to recreate them, but perhaps find something along those lines to use in our products...

heck, you might even be able to contact their customer service people and ask them about it. or just go to any of their stores, and im sure a clerk can tell you what they sell most of. it also gives you a chance to do a sniff test...

is that too much work you think?

DragonLady-Since we don't have any bath stores around, I can't actually go in and sniff, but you do have a good idea there about going to their websites and checking out the "new" scents. At my first fair, I had creamy coconut and vbn dupes from BBW, not one sold. That's ok with me, because this is a learning process, and the minute you stop learning, that's when you get old.
