Love those colours but they're not EU grade so I can't use them :( Pain in the rear!!

I need to check out the POP micas and see if they have the full INCI/MSDS on them and I think then I can use them. It's on my to do list.

Honey, I did email TKB about it but they never bothered to reply to me! A bit rude if you ask me...

I'm sorry Kevie you had a bad experience. Of course there is no excuse - however - like any of us I know as we start/want to grow and many things come at us - we can't *always* be 100% on top if it as much as we strive. She may have a 'known name' in the industry out there but her warehouse and staff are small. People falter. When lack of response is repetitive and not just an anomoly - then I start to wonder (then businesses don't deserve your business and you take it elsewhere) - I'd say give TKB another try. Or call although she does not have an 800 number sadly enough. At that point then for sure there is concern when you have tried and you needs are not being served. Just something to consider...

Thanks

This is CP with MP. Just took this out of the mold. Will post pics when it's cut.

Soapbuddy - that is beautiful and I love the sea star (the 'official' name of what is known by many as a star fish :+})

And you've shown with such grace and elegance that mp and cp can coexist in harmony

Hi Honey! Beautiful soaps, as always. (Thanks to everyone who posts pictures. I love looking at them!)
If you don't mind my asking (This may be a stupid question...), how did you get the rolling hills effect in your soaps? The more geometric look I understand but can't figure out the rolling look. Very nice!
Thank you!
Steph

Thanks for all the compliments!

The rolling hills effect was totally unexpected ... I used an SLS free base which is not really clear (but is clear when melted). Also used a goatsmilk base. I actually made it exactly like the golden swirl soap - basically using the double pour method but using 3 bases, one goatsmilk, one SLS free with a very light purple colour and one SLS free with Blackstar Red mica and Antique Red mica. However, I think the density of SLS base worked entirely differently from anything else I've used before. Oddly the white was one of the last colours I added and it seems to have ended up on the bottom!!! I can only think it was a density issue. So, really, the soap made itself to be honest!!!

I think a lot of the time, our soaps make their own decisions as to how they want to look. This is the soap discussed on the Labcolor thread. It is considerably different than the plan I had when I began this batch, but as happens so often, I am surprised and often thrilled with what appears when it is cut.

This soap reminds me of the Southwest, so that is what I named it. I hate trying to come up with names. The scent is Sweet Grass, which goes along with the SW "theme."

Baraka,

you really cut each soap rock by hand? how much scraps do you have left over and what do you do with them? (im really just curious)

your soaps are awesome

Thank you. It's nice to share the fruits of our labor, and get nice feedback from our peers.

Yes, they are all cut by hand. The results of that is a great consumption of my time, considerable variation in sizes, and yes, lots of scraps. I use the scraps in other batches, when appropriate. Sometimes I just make an "end of day" soap that is usually used at home.
