dosen't the fresh lye in the CP do funky things to the MP? At what point would you add MP ? And for what purpose would you mix the 2? I've got some MP left Id like to use up. I switched to making CP from MP beacuse I hated the way it sweats in humid weather. And would melt if left in a hot car.
Anyone else out there mix the 2 kinds of soap? Linda

I once used some CP chunks ( fully cured) in some M&P clear base - to look sort of like fruit pieces floating. They did just fine.

I added chunks of MP to CP at thick trace. It works fine.

I add slivers, chunks and slices anytime from medium trace onwards. I have used a layer of MP like a clear cheesecake topping on the top of a CP Base. I use it for contrast, texture and look. The gel just melts it, doesn't do anything else.

If you adding CP chunks to MP, you'll need to make sure the CP is not too old and dried out because that draws moisture out of the MP and later on it hollows out again.

Here's my experiment in MP in CP.

I am really bummed to report that after 3 days, the glycerin content in the CP seems to have permanently migrated onto the MP and there is a fine dusting of glycerin dew over everything.

I keep looking at it, hoping it'll get better but I am doubting that this soapy miracle will come to pass.

Hm, I tried adding a little MP to CP and got a bumpy surface that developed during cure - apparently the two types have a very different shrinkage rate.

Am I the only one with this issue?
