I agree with embedded toys. Or cute molds... animals maybe.
Simple and straight scents that they can recognize on their own usually work well, they are proud they know what it is. That or candy smells! :D

In my experience kids universally like fruit fragrances and hate florals. With food scents some love them and some hate them.

I've used Sun Ripened Raspberry, Mango Mango and Watermelon for most kids designs for years, it's just so much safer :) Sometimes I'll put some orange EO in, or blend with some strawberry or another fruit, but mostly it's those 3.

Kids love cute and color too IME :)
