I am awaiting my first order from BB and I am already working on my second shopping list
I need a good sample pack of the basic colors and was hoping someone could direct me in the way of LIQUID NON BLEEDING colors for me to purchase? Thanks a ton :)

You could buy micas and dissolve them in bottles with some glycerin.

I'm also interested in a sample pack of liquid NB colors, where did you find them? The DH and PJ part of the post baffled me :)

Hi, Red, and welcome to the forum!

There was a similar thread a while back that may help you: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2160

For BB's liquid colors, the only one I know of that DOES bleed is the orange liquid, as it is FD&C-based. A good rule of thumb is to look at the ingredients, if available, and see if FD&C dyes are listed. If so, the color will probably bleed.

Pigments should not bleed, but you do need to dilute them first to work out any clumps (a lot of people like to spritz some rubbing alcohol into a small bowl and stir the pigment into it before adding to the soap base). Ditto with micas.

Most micas don't bleed, but some do. The ones I know of that BB carries that DO bleed are the cellini blue, the cellini red, the coral mica, and the shamrock green mica. I suspect the yellow mica might bleed since it is FD&C-based, too.

Hope this helps! Have fun soaping! :D

Another company that you can check out for non-bleeding colorants (dispersed in glycerin so it's nice and easy to manage - like the ones PJ sells) is TKB Trading.

Perhaps I'm a *bit* biased with selecting her becasue I can ride my bike to pick up the supplies and I save money by not have to pay for shipping. Also because she is located in California (Oakland) and I have my resellers license I can buy it w/o the tax and then charge that to my customers.

Kevin, I bought several small bottles and liquid glycerin. I use a 40/70 ratio, but honestly just eyeballed the measurements. I then just shook them until they were blended. They turned out great and are SO convenient. No more mixing each time, I just put drops in the soap until I like what I see. You need to shake them good before each soaping session.

Hi. Don't know if this company has it. Kelly is the owner. I've done no business with her but am ooggling over a soap slice cutter she has. And I've tweeted with her. This size bottle may be too big but you could always find out if she has or knows where to get something smaller?
