I have always used lye in the pearl form, but I think I need to buy a bigger quantity to be more economical. Flakes are new to me, so I'm scared. Anyone have any feedback on flakes vs pearls?

I like the flakes better. I don't have to use a fabric softener sheet like I did with the pearls. Those would just jump all over the place due to static electricity.

sorry to be completely dense but how do you use the fabric sheets exactly?where do you put them?

Keep one sheet of the fabric softener in your lye. Use a second sheet to lightly wipe your clothes, your counter and whatever utensils you use to measure the lye.

the pearls are soooo jumpy indeed. I have to move slowly and carefully not to get them everywhere.

Does anyone know if Canwax sells it in flakes or pearls? I just got a 4kg bucket from them and haven't opened it yet as I am finishing my jumping pearls.

Canwax sells it in pearls. Use a stainless steel scoop rather than plastic and it should be just fine.
