I would like to make a red soap with a bit of black swirling.

I would be greatful for any suggestions ya'll might have for a true red and true black coloring that would stay true in CP/OP soap.

Not sure what product I should use for either color.

Thanks in Advance!

Charcoal will make a nice black. As far as red, if you make it very red, it will stain everything it touches. Red is very hard to achieve in soap.

Maybe I will go for a red and black swirl in white soap. Easier to hide the not so red color I think.

Thanks for the info, it really helps!

I found out through experience about red making red/pink bubbles. I wanted a Christmas color combo so used Cinnamon Red Oxide pigment and Moss Green Lab Color for a swirl. The soap looked great, but the red that shows up below the soap dish is a little scary. I was thinking of grating the soap and adding to white, but would this continue to produce red residue? Also, the BB notes on the cinnamon red say it's great in CP soap. This is true for the color it produces, but was I too heavy handed? I added 1/2 tsp into 2 cups soap to swirl in 2# of soap and wasn't expecting the red lather. I do like the color if there's a good way to use it. Thanks
