That's the problem isn't it? It costs a lot to get to the point where you feel confidant enough about selling - and then there's tons of paperwork involved. I know (when I open my store) that I'll probably still be out of pocket for quite some time given the amount I've spent already - but I think that level of experimentation is really necessary in order to know how your materials work. It's the rare person that gets it right first time - I used to cry when my things went wrong and, at the beginning, that happened A LOT! I still feel a bit guilty ordering materials when I'm not bringing in any money for them. Hubby says it's R&D and no company can miss out on it and you have to speculate to accumulate and I guess he's right - all we can hope is that people love our work and want to spend a LOT of money on it!!!

Baraka, your soaps are beautiful, they seem real gems, they have some great colors, congratulations and good job.

Soapchick, all soaps are wonderful, it really is hard to know which is the favorite, congratulations and it is a pleasure to view them. :D

Looks lovely but I've no clue what candy corn is or what it smells like but I love the colours!

Thanks Bramble Momma and Honey. I still owe you guys a picture of the ribbon soap I cut and will make that happen. I was just so focused on getting some halloween stuff up in my shop.

BTW - I swear this fragrance from BB 'Pumpkin Spice' is over the top that I thought someone (but not me becuase I can't claim baker as a skill) had taken a pie out of the oven - I hope it sells!!

Honey - I just sent you a PM - yeah isn't it great that this forum is so international and one is not afraid to ask. Candy corn is this candy that is passed out during Halloween. It is those little candies that are around the soap. I just ate one and honestly can't describe how it tastes but it's all sugar. It's like a friend of mine mentioned she gave her kids Candy Floss - what the heck is that? Shes Australian - translated to the US - Cotton Candy. I love it!! (not the cotton candy but just the language).

Gotta run get those twin boys. First night of homework. Glad I got to get some soaping done today.

Finally! I feel I have something worth showing.

Three different shapes, all scented with cut grass. Smells great! I made some grass blades to embed in the soap, and it looks great. A tiny bit of glitter between the layers for the grass means that there's a tiny sparkle here & there - like dew drops. Okay, I'm going mad now. LOL!!

These are lovely, but the cows gave me my first smile of the morning. I really love those.

asliceofdelight - I love your soaps! The tag is super cute too. Are they in cello bags? Does that keep them from getting dewey? Where do you list the ingredients? Is it on the back side? Thanks for sharing your expertise :) (and sorry for all the questions)
