Okay, here are my first 3 soaps. I'll be taking baggies of soap to work and set them out in the lunchroom with a "FREE SOAP" sign. :D We'll see how well they're received.

Image
Flowering loofah smells like "Sun Ripened Fruit". This is a scent I purchased at Michael's. I thought it smelled more floral than fruity. My husband said it smells like soap. Heh.

Image
The little butterflies smell like Pearberry. I also made some light green glittery ones but didn't take a picture.

Image
These green pearly bears smell like green tea and cucumber. They are a birthday present for my Mom.

So here is where I seem to now come to show off my hard work. Was up until 3 am, working on this...
This one is scented with Lavender FO & EO, as well as containing some lavender flowers.

With this soap, I used my new bottle of Kentish Rain (BB). The fragrance is very nice... different smell than anything else I have. I like it.

Next, I'm probably going to try out that Pearberry sample BB sent me with my order. It smells wonderful! THANK YOU ANNE MARIE!

Thank you. You girls make me feel really good, as I know I'm amongst soap artist who are leagues above myself.

I'm not sure I could explain how I do it, as it seems to take me HOURS to do one 5 lb batch, and most of it is spontaneous. I might get some basic color ideas in my mind, but once I start, it's like working off my paint pallet - everything is decided as it goes. I grab this, throw in a little of that... as most of you have picked up from my posts, I really know next to nothing about the technology of soap making. That's part of why I like MP. It's been just a creative process for me. I didn't even care about fragrances, just creating something on which to feast the eye, and protect the skin in the process.

I'm trying to break myself of the habit of unmolding when the soap is still fairly warm. I tell myself that I can shape it better that way, but the truth is that I'm just too anxious to see what it's going to look like. I made the red and lavender one well after midnight, telling myself I would let it cool all night and cut it this morning. Yeah right! It was still pretty soft, and definitely warm, when my knife slid through it. I stayed up until 3 am, whittling each bar into shape. Now I'm wondering if I'm losing my mind, as they all seem to look like tiny landscape paintings!!

Now that it looks like it could become a business... I'm trying to learn a bit, so my soaps are better and more marketable.

Thank you all again. I'll be posting more as they are finished. BTW, here's my "other" site.... .

Two new soaps for today - goatsmilk and glycerine soap with added skin softening Golden Jojoba Oil, special moisturising factors & an allergen free fragrance oil which is described as "a fresh, floral bouquet with fruity accents reminiscent of red raspberries based on a warm wood-musk foundation", coloured with a tiny bit of red and cerise flambe mica.

Sandbarsoaps - thats a very effective soap, I assume it's Lavender scented?
