I made my first batch of melt and pour for the first time! I need to know how to store it. Where can i keep it so the scent wont transfer from one to the other? I wrapped it in sarana cling wrap for now. I will be getting a heat gun next week. Can anyone send me a link on how to use the heatgun and the duration?

Thanksk!

Just google soap queen videos - you'll find it there.

Wrap it in cling wrap and store in tupperware like boxes and it'll be fine.

Saran wrap works very well. A hair dryer is all you need to cling the saran wrap to the soap. A heat gun may be too strong and melt the wrap and the soap. Try a little test bar first... use quick sweeping motions. :D

I use the bundle wrap that comes on a handle, and is available from 3 inches wide, up. Mine is about 5 or 6 inches wide x 1000 ft. It's tougher than Saran wrap, and sticks to itself very well. Also the narrow width is a lifesaver when individually wrapping bars. It can also take more heat from a gun.

My delima is that when I first wrap my MP soap, they look great. You can't even see the wrap. Then after awhile, the wrap begins to bag, air spaces appear and the soap doesn't look nearly as nice. When I used food wraps, it was even worse. I'm considering getting a shrinkwrap system from Natl, hoping that will solve this problem.

Any advice?

One of the key advantages that attracts me to a shrink wrap system is the time element. I have arthritis in my fingers, so wrapping my irregularly shaped soaps takes an incredible amount of time. Then too, the way I do them, I have to hold them when I use the heat gun, and that gets really painfully hot on my fingers. I haven't watched the video yet, (speakers went out in a lightening storm), but will. Maybe I'll see something there of help. I probably need to let them dry longer also. I'm always in such a hurry to get things finished.

I appreciate your input about the shrinkwrap. Art had already offered to shrink a few bars for me. I'll go ahead and do that.

Can you address the clarity of the low moisture base? I'm striving for VERY clear bars and no bleeding is important to my designs. This is a big issue with these wholesale prospects. If I can please them, then I'm in "business" for sure. I'm using an ultra-clear base now that I order from Soaper Supplies in Texas (neighboring state).

Me too, when I get to selling I'm going to buy a catering sized pack.
