Teach Soap

Hi! So I just did my first batch of CPOP, needed to hurry along the cure process!

This was a small test batch, 1 pound. I put it in the oven on low for hour then turned the heat off and left it over night. Now it's morning. I love that the log just popped right out! Normally I have to struggle with the mold. BUT... the edges are all wet. And the soap is super soft. Which makes slicing a breeze.

But did I do something wrong? Is the wetness my FO? Is it soft because I did not cook it long enough? Any thoughts? I haven't seen any other posts about this.

It depends what your recipe was and possibly where your fragrance came from. Sounds like it was cooked long enough, so that's not it.

Think I over did it with the FO. I have had some batches come out too weak, so I amped this one a bit!

No it wasn't that bad. Its a new FO. I have been doing 1/2 oz per pound with other fragrances, and haven't been happy. So this time I used 1oz per pound. Probably didn't need to. But I made sure the oven stayed low, below FP.

How about tweaking the recipe to make it harder? Just a thought. With this batch, give it a couple of days. There's a chance that the wetness will absorb back in.

Actually its doing pretty well now! I may tweak it, this was my first time adding palm to my usual recipe! I'm having so much fun trying new things! Thanks!
