Teach Soap

Had a mold mishap last night and basically the soap slipped through the mold as I was messing with the end cap. Nevertheless, the color was only a dark gray so will give it another go this weekend. Only a pound!

Does anyone have any suggestions for a scent for a black soap for men? I used Somali Rose and it smells like a male version of Opium (yuck) so I am looking for something more natural smelling and less perfumey that will go with black soap.

I remember someone did a black soap with Sangre De Drago (Dragon's Blood) - smells like church inscense to me but I like it.
Might also consider something with anise... like big chunks of licorice

this would be a great time to use something that discolors to dark brown, so it will boost the grey to a darker shade! instead of all the times we want white soap.... pull out the vanilla!

Vanilla, Cinnamon or maybe even something with evergreen scent may be more "manly" and keeps with the winter theme, since Hockey typically is a winter sport. Sensous Sandlewood is a good choice and one the male members of my family all like.

Dark rich chocolate fo turned a very dark brown when I used it. Most say it smells just like chocolate when they smell it. When I wash with it, however, it just has a pleasant, light scent.

Have not shown the folks here yet. . trying to get someone to help me make a round label like a real puck before I showcase. And since it need to cure for 6 weeks, I have a little time!

Thanks for all the help. . 3 batches later, 14 capsules in 2 lbs of oils with vanilla worked like a charm!

For labels you can make your own professional looking ones at places like avery.com, and there are others as well. Even your own computer probably has built in templates. Mine does anyways.

After they cure for a few days you can "wash" them with a bucket of water and a soft wet sponge. This will let you soften the edges and put a nice shine on them. I do that with all of my round soaps and I think that would be just what you need for your hockey pucks.

what type of alcohol would you use to shine them up? and is it just spraying them or buffing needed also?
