Teach Soap

Hi All

I want to make a sort of tie dyed looking soap (you know with bright colours and then layered with white) ... which is fine and easy but it's getting that sort of dragged effect (where the white is dragged through the colours) that is a real feature of tie dying and I cannot think how to do it.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what you mean about the dragged effect. Do you have a picture of a tie dye look that you'd like to duplicate? Even a photo of a shirt or something?

You might like to try swirling melt and pour in a pan. Here are some pics of how it looks:


I did a tutorial on The Soap Queen last year which shows the same method. You would just use white and a couple of bright colors, like hot pink and turquoise, to marble. for that tutorial.

I would love to see how the tie dye soap comes out. Looks like a fun challenge!

Here is my attempt at tie dyed looking soap - I think it's pretty succesful, looks sort of tie dyed/psycadelic! What do you think... does it say tie dyed hippy look to you?




They are all scented with Sandalwood, Patchouli and Jasmine Fragrance Oil and I added Golden Jojoba Oil and Lamesoft which is a green, Ecocert, natural skin moisturising agent to make sure they're a very luxurious soap!!

Or... you could do a layered loaf... and use *bleeding colors*... then with soap paints paint on the white circles on each cut bar of soap.
