I have been asked by my husband to make some lavender soap for a friend of his. I am not a lavender person, so I'm asking for advise for which Lavender EO is the most pleasant. I have ordered Lavender 40/42 or 42/40 from BB, but it smells a little harsh to me, was hoping for a more pleasant lavender smell? Anyone want to weigh in?

Bulgarian is less harsh, French is more "floral". So take your pick. :)
There is also Lavandula Abrialis, but I wouldn't waste it in soap.

I use the 40/42 and by the time it's been through the CP process the smell has mellowed nicely. I know what you mean tho, it smells vile straight out of the bottle!!
